Kilmarnock Orchard & Jewel of the Rideau

Today we depart for the “Jewel of the Rideau” to enjoy browsing and a
delicious lunch in the charming village of Merrickville. Later this
afternoon, we’ll continue on to visit the beautiful Island of Kilmarnock
overlooking the historic Rideau River and Rideau Canal system. We’ll take a
narrated wagon ride through the orchard to learn about the history of the
operation and the different types of apples grown. We’ll enjoy a cup of tea
and piece of home made pie on the porch, and some time to browse in the gift
shop, before returning to Ottawa.

experience the sights, sounds and beauty where 16,000 magnificent Showy Lady’s
Slipper orchids burst into delicate pink and white bloom at Purdon Conservation
Area. Then, our journey continues to the village of Westport for a delicious
lunch at the Cove Country Inn. Enjoy time for browsing and shopping in the
village of Westport before returning to Ottawa.
