The Saguenay and Charlevoix Regions are an
absolute must see destination for a unique East Coast experience. This adventure
will live long in your memory with scenic green vistas, clear blue waters and
crisp salty air! Don’t forget your camera!
Day 1: To La Malbaie, PQ
Today we will travel away from the busy urban centers of Quebec on
our way up the coast. We will make a brief stop at the Shrine of St Anne de
Beaupre before continuing to La Malbaie, Quebec. Your home away from home for
the next three nights will be the charming and historical Manoir Charlevoix,
situated on the doorstep of the St. Lawrence River. Accommodations will include
one bed and a sofa bed. After you get settled in, enjoy a relaxing evening and a
delicious dinner at the Manoir Charlevoix. (D)
Day 2: Fjord Cruise
Experience the unique wilderness and the stunning scenery of the
Saguenay Fjord that was created thousands of years ago by receding glaciers.
You’ll be astounded by the impressive landscape that surrounds you during a six
hour cruise. Lunch will be served aboard the vessel as you cruise through the
wildest parts of the Fjord. Later, we’ll do a bit of sightseeing before
returning for an enjoyable dinner at the hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Tadoussac & Whale Watching
Today we will travel to the town where the Saguenay River empties
into the St. Lawrence – Tadoussac. Here you will have time to visit the
historical village and enjoy lunch. This afternoon we will board our cruise boat
to explore a unique whale refuge. Aboard these specially designed vessels you
will be able to observe first-hand, several species of whales, such as the
beluga, minkes and finbacks. The biologist aboard will help you understand these
giants of the deep and their fascinating adaptability to the marine environment.
Enjoy another delicious dinner this evening at the hotel upon our return. (B,D)
Day 4: To Ottawa, ON
This morning we depart for home making a stop at the magnificent
Sainte-Anne Canyon before continuing on to charming Old Quebec for lunch and
browsing at leisure. This afternoon we will continue on our journey to Ottawa
with many memories of the beautiful Saguenay and Charlevoix Regions. (B)
