Day 1: To Riviere-du-Loup, PQ
Our journey today finds us traveling through the province of Quebec past Montreal and Quebec City. Driving along the scenic south shore of the
St. Lawrence River takes us back to the earlier days. We will make a brief stop in the town of St. Jean Port Joli, founded in 1721 and noted as the wood carving capital of Quebec. The wood carver’s are fascinating and there are plenty of handicrafts to purchase. Then, we will continue on to our overnight accommodation at the Auberge de la Pointe in Riviere-du-Loup. Enjoy a leisurely dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day 2: To Moncton, NB
This morning our journey continues south to the town of Moncton. Overnight at the Delta Hotel, or similar. (B)

Day 3: Sydney, NS
This morning we’ll travel into Nova Scotia crossing over the Canso Causeway as we enter Cape Breton Island before reaching Sydney for the night. Overnight at the Days Inn Sydney. (B)

Day 4: Corner Brook, NL
Today we travel by Marine Atlantic Ferry to Newfoundland. IT’S TRUE!
They are different! Newfoundland offers a unique experience in North America. The heritage of exploration and discovery goes back more than a thousand years and it is vibrantly alive in their contemporary culture. Upon arrival in the coastal town of Port Aux Basque we will travel to Corner Brook, the second largest city in Newfoundland, where we will spend the night. (B)

Day 5: Grand Falls, NL
Depart for Grand Falls. Enroute we will travel through one of Canada’s most scenic parks – Gros Morne – the forests and meadows, which are inhibited by moose, caribou and Arctic hare. Stops will be made at the visitor’s center to view a film, and the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse. There will be many photographic opportunities as we drive along the trails of the rocky shore. We will overnight in Grand Falls at the Mount Peyton Hotel. Enjoy a mug up reception hosted by the hotel. (B)

Day 6: Clarenville, NL
Our travels today continue off the beaten track to the outport of Twillingate to visit the Prime Berth Fishing Heritage Centre, Longpointe Lighthouse for a picture stop and some leisure time to enjoy lunch. Later this afternoon we’ll wind our way back to the Trans Canada highway as our travels continue on to Terra Nova National Park for a visit to the Marine Interpretation Center for a film. Our day ends in Clarenville where we will overnight at the St. Jude Hotel. (B)

Day 7: St. John’s, NL
Today we continue on to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve in Petty Harbour for a Puffin & Whale Watching sightseeing cruise. After lunch we’ll visit Cape Spear National Historic Site before arriving in St. John’s. We will spend the next two nights in St. John’s. (B)

Day 8: St. John’s, NL
Enjoy a guided tour today exploring St. John’s, one of the oldest settlements in North America including a visit to Signal Hill. Enjoy the rugged landscape while experiencing the traditions of the local heritage. (B)

Day 9: Sydney, NS
We return to Nova Scotia, from Argentia, to North Sydney by ferry. Overnight in Sydney at the Days Inn. (B)

Day 10: To Halifax, NS
Today following breakfast we travel back across the Canso Causeway and travel along the Marine Drive where you can smell the tang of salt sea air, Atlantic waters washing miles of beach and rocky shoreline enroute to Halifax. Overnight the next two nights at the Holiday Inn Express Halifax, or similar. (B)

Day 11: Halifax, NS
A city tour of Halifax will acquaint you with an old established community, yet with a youthful outlook. The waterfront area is a prime example of the blending of old and new. The wooden buildings and fine stone structures of 18th century Halifax stands here in harmony with the contemporary styles of new construction. Tonight enjoy a traditional Lobster Dinner.

Day 12: To Saint John, NB
Today we will travel through the beautiful Evangeline Trail through the lush Annapolis Valley making a brief stop (time permitting) at Grand Pre National Historic Site. The site commemorates Acadian history and culture. We’ll continue on to Digby where we will cruise across the Bay of Fundy to Saint John. (B)

Day 13: Quebec City, PQ
Our day travels through New Brunswick to the province of Quebec where our journey will overnight in Quebec City/Ste. Foy. (B)

Day 14: To Ottawa, ON
This morning enjoy a tour of Quebec City with a local guide. Spend some leisure time in the French quarter for lunch and browsing before we return to Ottawa. (B)
