Day 1: To Perrysburg, OH
Today we depart Ottawa towards the Windsor/Detroit border and continue on to our overnight in Perrysburg, Ohio at the Holiday inn Express.
Day 2: To Shipshewana, IN
Our travels continue onto Shipshewana, Indiana, where you will be spending the next two evenings. Upon our arrival in Shipshewana a local guide will begin our Countryside Tour where you will learn about the Amish culture. We’ll make stops at an Amish Market, Amish Quilt Shop, Amish Farm and many other landmarks along the way. View some of the beautiful Quilt Gardens in bloom with landscapes in different designs. Tonight enjoy a buggy ride down a peaceful road to an Amish Home. Here we will be treated to a traditional “Thresher’s Meal,” and an experience you are sure to enjoy while visiting with the family. We will overnight at the Farmstead Inn for two nights. (B,D)
Day 3: Shipshewana, IN
This morning stroll across the Covered Bridge to the Menno-Hof Interpretive Centre where history is decidedly hands on, taking you on a journey through the unique history of the Amish and Mennonite Cultures. Then we are off to spend the rest of the day at the mid west largest Flea Market. Tonight enjoy dinner and a musical Broadway production at the Blue Gate Dinner Theatre. (B,D)
Day 4: Shipshewana, IN and Perrysburg, OH
Enjoy the Fall Crafters Fair, the biggest festival in Shipshewana. The hub of the crafters, centres around the Blue Gate, Craft Barn and Marketplace branching out all around town. Quality Artisans, quilters, painter, food vendors, cloggers and musicians will be found among the quaint stores providing demonstrations, entertainment and more! Stop off a Yoder’s Shopping centre and visit Jo Jo’s Pretzel for a learning experience on pretzel making. We will return to Perrysburg, Ohio later in afternoon for our overnight at the Holiday Inn Express. (B)
Day 5: Ottawa, ON
After breakfast, depart for Ottawa stopping briefly at the Duty Free Shop before crossing into Ontario. (B)
