Rochester Lilac Festival & Beyond

Day 1: To Rochester, NY
Today we depart for New York’s Flower City - Rochester, home to North Americas largest Lilac Festival. We arrive in Rochester in the early afternoon and check into our hotel for the next two nights. Later this afternoon, we will depart the hotel for Casa Larga Vineyard, located in Fairport, New York, and part of the world famous Finger Lakes Viticultural Region, for a Tour and Tasting. This evening you will dine on the “Colonial Belle” for a dinner cruise along the Erie Canal. (D)
Day 2: Rochester, NY
Enjoy a breakfast at the hotel before we depart for our day of Touring with a local step on guide who will share in the history of the historical and cultural sites along the way. We’ll stop at Highland Park to see the Lilacs as well as the rest of the Arboretum. We’ll visit the Lamberton Conservatory, offering climate-controlled rooms containing many exotic plants and seasonal floral displays with a deck for a bird‘s-eye view. Lunch will be on your own at Highland Park. Later this afternoon we’ll travel to the George Eastman House, founder of Eastman Kodak Company. This 12.5 acre estate in the heart of Rochester, combines the treasures of the world’s leading Museum of Photography and Film, with the stately pleasures of the landmark 50 room Colonial Revival Mansion, George Eastman called home. Then we are off to Sonnenberg Mansion & Gardens, now a New York State Park, located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region. The Gardens feature 20,000 annuals, rose bushes, wildflowers, water-falls, and rock formations. The Japanese Garden is exquisite. We will make a stop for dinner at the New York Wine & Culinary Centre for dinner and a chef demonstation. (B,D)
Day 3: Waterloo | Rochester, NY
Following a full buffet breakfast, we depart for the Waterloo Premium Outlets for shopping before returning to Ottawa. (B)
