Experience a choice of Exploring Nantucket
Island or Martha’s Vineyard and Whale Watching Excursion or a Dune Ride, on this
truly unforgettable escape to the Cape.
Day 1: To Cape Cod, MA
We’ll travel today to the famous “Cape” of the southern seashore. We
will stop for a buffet dinner before arriving at the Cape Pointe Hotel (July) or
The Bayside Resort (October) in West Yarmouth. Unpack and relax, this will be
your home for the next four nights. During the next few days you’ll experience
some unique opportunities. (D)
Day 2: Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA
Whale Watch or Dune Ride
After breakfast, a local guide will lead us on a sightseeing tour of
the area. We’ll travel historic Route 6A, the scenic road to the tip of the
Cape, Provincetown, with stops at the historical Eastham Windmill and the
Highland Lighthouse. Later this afternoon you will be given a choice of a three
hour whale watching cruise, or a dune ride. The naturalist on board will explain
the different types of marine life you will see including the “gentle giants” of
the ocean. Bring your camera for some memorable picture taking opportunities!
Or, experience a Dune Ride aboard an enclosed vehicle, and travel along the
shoreline to see “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers have become
inspired to create their art. Some leisure time will be available to browse in
Provincetown on Commercial Street lined with shops and galleries. Tonight enjoy
dining with the group at a local establishment. (B,D)
Day 3: Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, MA
Today you’ll be given a choice of a day exploring Nantucket Island or
the Island of Martha’s Vineyard. Both excursions will allow leisure time to
stroll in the town and explore the island on a bus tour. Tonight enjoy an
evening of dinner and entertainment in the area. (B,D)
Day 4: Chatham/Sandwich/Hyannisport, MA
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before departing with a
local guide for a unique day of exploring Cape Cod. We will travel the south
side of the Cape to the seaside village of Chatham. You will view the Chatham
Light, which has been a lifesaving beacon for people throughout the Cape’s
history. Next we will visit the oldest town on the Cape – Sandwich. You will see
the Village Green, the Great Salt Marsh, a Cranberry Bog and Cape Cod Bay. Enjoy
a visit to the Heritage Museum and Gardens and see the antique collection in the
Shaker Round Barn, a historic working Carousel, the Cape Cod Baseball League
Hall of Fame, the beautiful gardens and other special exhibits. Before returning
to the hotel we will visit the “hub” of the Cape – Hyannis making stops at the
Kennedy Memorial and the Korean War Memorial, drive through the village of
Hyannisport and view the St. Francis of Xavier Church. A special evening
featuring a traditional New England “Lobster” dinner is sure to please. (An

Day 5: To Ottawa, ON
After breakfast we depart for home with many fond memories of Olde
Cape Cod. (B))
